My Exciting News (at least for me)

My exciting news is I got a job teaching at a Preschool. I will be teaching a 2 year old class 2 days a week, and assisting in a 3 years old class 1 day a week. I am so excited,I feel this job is what I was meant to do (after being a Mom). Three of my kids will be in elementary school and Cheyanne will be at this Preschool (I will be in her class when I am with the 3 years old).

I have been drawing and cutting my fingers off.
These are pictures of my hard labor. I have just loved doing it.

This is right outside my door. "We're Beary Glad To See You"

I just love these Teddys.

This one of my Bulletin Boards: " Friendships Blossom Here"

This is my favorite: We're So Hoppy to See You"

Aren't these frogs too cute?

This is the Artist's Corner. Kids are going to put up any art work they would like to place here, they are even welcome to bring pictures they create from home.

This is Alphie the Inch Worm:

I wish I could say I got these ideas from my head but I found them in various places. I am sooo excited to get started.
I am always looking for great ideas for Preschool, so any things you have done with your child or anything they have done at school that you would like to share, would be great. Maybe be you could tell me what is the cutest project or activity your kids have done at school.

You probably know about it already but Mailbox magazine has great ideas for preschool classrooms. It is available at my library.

Those bulletin boards look fantastic. Two ideas for you: Take lots of pictures and make classroom books with them. Take pictures at playtime, on a field trip, for an art activity. Anything. Then make a repeatitive book that they can look at. Either laminate the pages and bind with rings or use pocket protectors and a binder. Kids love to look at and read about themselves.
Second idea, make ribbon sticks with ribbon and shower curtain rings. They can dance and move to music with them. Play lots of music.

What an amazing job getting your classroom ready. My son just went for Meet the Teacher Day last week and was given a blank star about 18"-24" in diameter. Our project for the first day was to add pictures of our family and of his favorites. He was so excited about it and so excited to bring it with him on his first day. They talked about their stars during circle time on the first day and hung them on the wall. It also lets the teacher use it as a way to get to know the kid, especially if they are having a rough day. She can talk to them about their favorites on their star.

Congratulations!! This is also my dream job, that I am hoping to find in the next few years. Have a great time with it!!!
